Bloom Where You Are Planted

Women Of Purpose, Bloom Where You Are Planted

Please check back periodically, as we will bring you the next dinner 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bloom Columbus strives to include a guest of honor at each of our events. Our guests of honor are women of extraordinary excellence. She is a overcomer, a woman of strength, she is successful, and is blooming where she has been planted.

We are pleased that our last guest speaker was a celebrity guest of honor joining us from Atlanta, Georgia---Allison Babb, CEO of Great Small Business Advice! Allison greatly impacted Bloom Columbus' MelissaRoshan professionally, and personally. MelissaRoshan won a business coaching scholarship after submitting an essay for the Great Small Business Advice scholarship giveaway. Their meeting deemed fateful. A connection was made, and a sisterhood began. Allison embodies all of the qualities Bloom Columbus stands for, and we are pleased she will be here to impart wisdom, and words of encouragement.

Allison Babb is CEO of Allison Babb International LLC, and founder of GreatSmallBusinessAdvice.com - a company devoted to the success of solo entrepreneurs.

Allison's journey into entrepreneurship was an interesting one. After climbing the corporate ladder and becoming a successful senior manager at a software company, Allison began feeling quite unfulfilled.

Despite her remarkable success in the corporate world, she felt something was missing in her life. Deep inside, Allison knew that she was called to do something different in the world and that senior management was not it. She began her inner search for what she was truly meant to do with her life.

Allison spent over 2 years wrestling with the idea of leaving the security of her 6-figure corporate paycheck. But as a single mom with two kids, Allison finally decided that it was time to step into entrepreneurship (petrifying as it seemed at the time).

Success was not instant. While still employed, Allison realized that her true passion and calling was in her natural abilities as a gifted coach. She completed training at Coach University and started her first business as a Life Coach. Although she had some clients, without a mentor and without any business-building knowledge, her Life Coaching business eventually failed.

Allison quickly reflected on this experience and knew that to fulfill her self-employment dreams, she must discover what it took to create a truly successful business. As a single parent, she knew that failure was simply not an option in her quest to become self-employed full-time.

Allison's prevailing belief was "Someone out there HAS the recipe for building a successful business and I intend to find it." And with that, she made the decision to study 6- and 7-figure solo entrepreneurs.

With relentless determination, she immersed herself in their programs, bought their books, audios, enrolled in their live seminars, listened to hundreds of teleseminars and, most importantly, hired several of them to coach her one-on-one. To the tune of well over $150K, Allison invested her own money in discovering exactly what it took to create a successful business.

From there, more and more full-time entrepreneurs were drawn to Allison's authentic, motivational, action-oriented, and results-focused coaching. They began showing up asking for Allison's advice and mentoring on creating successful businesses. And this led to her creating GreatSmallBusinessAdvice.com. This is where she now spends most of her time coaching and mentoring small business owners with a heartfelt passion for bringing the business success recipe to solo entrepreneurs.

As more and more questions came in, and as her list of followers grew to thousands of small business owners, it was no longer possible to coach everyone one-on-one. To respond to the masses, Allison decided to put her advice into a product so more of them can have access to her expertise without needing to enroll in her coaching programs.

Allison is an upbeat and very down-to-earth single mom who likes to keep life simple. When she's not taking her relentless high-energy to speaking gigs, or escaping to warm Caribbean vacations, Allison is usually kicking back at home with her two kids. "I'm a total home-body." Allison says.

She is a devoted Christian who grew up in the tiny Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago then (ironically) lived in frigid cold Massachusetts for over 23 years. She then "came to her senses" as she puts it, and decided it was time to retire the snow shovels. Allison now resides in Georgia with her two sons. She still has her sights set on moving further south in her attempts to reclaim that "85 degrees year around" she grew up with.
